VISION
High Moorland Community Action is an organisation
founded by local residents who want to make Dartmoor Forest Parish a great
place to live.
HMCA acts as a catalyst to start and support projects,
generate local action, encourage and provide a forum for all local people
to have a say in shaping their future
HMCA works to pull together the strands of Parish life,
to reduce social isolation and to build bridges with and between existing
authorities, generating partnerships between groups and individuals, spearheading
new ways of working together, ensuring the long term future of the Parish
and all its inhabitants
What we do
Providing a range of Information Technology and other
training courses to individuals and businesses in the area and promote
life long learning.
Offering a club for children to attend during school holidays that includes
trips out and that aims to help the development of the children and as
a service to parents at work.
Providing a venue for statutory and other voluntary agencies to deliver
their services.
Supporting organisations within the Dartmoor Forest Parish and provide
a link between statutory agencies and the parish.
We are currently working on a project to develop a new community facility.
Equal Opportunities
HMCA recognises and values the diversity that exists in society and is
committed to insisting on and promoting equality of access irrespective
of age, race. colour, ethnic or national origins, gender, marital status,
